What is MultiLiner®?
Can Multi
be used in any sort of pipe? Some pipes are not always round. They may be elliptical, box , rectangular, half mooned, double barreled or in some cases the pipe has lost its’ rounding by a partial collapse, where the crown of the pipe has begun to fall in. The measuring of these pipes has to be exact, and in some cases this may be impossible. If it is impossible do not attempt lining. Guess work is for armatures. There are some methods that are out there such as sonar or laser profiling. These are very good methods that can be used, although there is nothing better than going into the manhole and physically measuring the inside diameter of the pipe. Remember to practice manhole entry safely. Pressure pipes: Pressure pipes can be lined successfully with limitations. The Multiliner system has performed successfully in 80 PSI pipes in the past. Typically these lines are limited to Potable water and gas pipes, although the 80 PSI pipe was a sewer force main. The liner must be designed by an accredited engineer. Although the Multiliner system does not cover potable water systems, there are other CIPP products that do work in this application, that are NSF 61 approved and further to that WRc approved. The use of UV Light is recommended for this method over steam. Multiliner is primarily used to line sanitary and storm pipe, although we have been used in vent shafts, boiler feed lines, and a myriad of different applications. Multiliner can be utilized in 6 inch (150mm) to 48 inch (1200mm).
What are
the advantages of Fiberglass reinforced liners over felt liners? Because of Multiliner’s immense strength, the liner is much thinner than what a felt liner would be. This works two ways. Typically, if there is less material, there is less cost, and secondly if there is less material, it should take less effort to cure the liner. There is a cost savings everywhere you look.
